About the Bhaktivinoda Institute
We are disciples of Swami B.G. Narasiṅgha (a direct disciple of his Divine Grace A.C Bhaktivedānta Swami Prabhupāda). The Bhaktivinoda Institute website was created on his instruction by Gaura Gopāla Dāsa, Swami B.V. Giri, Sanātana Dāsa and Parameśvarī Dāsī. It was our Guru Mahārāja’s inspiration to create a web repository where all the works of Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākur (many of which have never been translated into English before) would be easily accessible and readable for all. Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura is the modern day Vyāsadeva and is responsible for reinvigorating the saṅkīrtana movement of Mahāprabhu in recent times. Bhaktivinoda Institute Mission Statement
On 18th August 2012, on the occasion of his Vyasa Puja, Srila Bhakti Gaurava Narasingha Maharaja announced to the devotees that he had a strong desire to create a website called “Bhaktivinoda Institute” in honour of Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Thakur and his teachings in order to preserve and propagate them. British Rule and the Vaiṣṇavas (Britis-rājya u Vaiṣṇava-vṛnda)
Britis-rājya u Vaiṣṇava-vṛnda (British Rule and the Vaiṣṇavas) was published in the first edition of Sajjana Toṣaṇī, Vol. 1 Issue 1 in 1881. Herein, Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura praises British rule in India as favorable for Vaiṣnavas as compared to previous regimes.
Śrī Bhāgavatācārya
‘Śrī Bhāgavatācārya’ was first published in Sajjana Toṣaṇī, Vol.10 issue 2 in 1885. In this short article Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura criticizes a descendant of Śrīla Bhāgavatācārya who has written two books expounding the beliefs of the sahajiyās and bāulas.
The Last Year (Gata-varṣa)
'Gata-varṣa (The Last Year)' is an editorial written by Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura for Sajjana Toṣaṇī, Vol.12, Issue 1 in 1900. The Ṭhākura reviews the spiritual achievements made during the last year, and predicts that in future, people from all nations will come to the birthplace of Mahāprabhu. He also mentions his son, Siddhānta Sarasvatī in connection to the publication of Padma Purāṇa.
