Pañca Saṁskāra (The Five Purificatory Processes) was published in Sajjana Toṣaṇī, Vol.4, Issue 1 in 1892. This was the second article written by Bhaktivinoda on this subject (the first being in Sajjjana Toṣaṇī, Vol. 2, Issue 1). This shorter article gives more details on the meaning of pañca-saṁskāra. One specific point that differs with the previous article is how the Ṭhākura defines the third process of pañca-saṁskāra, namely nāma.

The Characters of Renounced Vaiṣṇavas Need to be Especially Pure (Vairāgī Vaiṣṇava-digera Caritra Viśeṣataḥ Nirmala Hauyā Cāi)

'Vairāgī Vaiṣṇava-digera Caritra Viśeṣataḥ Nirmala Hauyā Cāi (The Characters of Renounced Vaiṣṇavas Need to be Especially Pure)' was first published in Sajjana Toṣaṇi, Vo.5. issue 10 in 1893. Herein, Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura writes about the necessity of renounced Vaiṣṇavas and ācāryas to be of spotless character.

Sādhu Śikṣā (Holy Teachings)

'Sādhu Śikṣā (Holy Teachings)' was first published in Sajjana Toṣaṇi, Vo.5. issues 10,11 and 12, in 1893. In this article, Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura talks about the two ways a sādhu teaches, and explains how the conduct of a Vaiṣṇava is most important. At the end of the article, he gives a selection of ślokas from Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta and Śrī Caitanya-bhāgavata that clarify his point.

Pañca Saṁskāra (The Five Purificatory Processes) – 1

Pañca Saṁskāra (The Five Purificatory Processes) was originally published in Sajjana Toṣaṇī (Vol. 2. Issue 1) in 1885. Herein, Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura describes the five divisions of initiation according to śāstra, and their necessity amongst Vaiṣṇavas. He also explains why this process is not being followed properly at present. This was the first article on pañca-saṁskāra written by Bhaktivinoda. Another shorter article was published in Sajjana Toṣaṇī, Vol.4. Issue 1 in 1892.
