bhavārṇave paḍe more ākula parāṇa
kise kūla pāba tāra nā pāi sandhāna
I have fallen into the ocean of material existence, and my life is overwhelmed with distress. How will I find the shore and cross over? I do not know.
(2)
nā āche karma-bala nāhi jñāna-bala
yoga-tapa-ādi-dharma nā āche sambala
I have no strength from karma, nor strength from jñāna. I have no support from yoga, austerity, or religious practices.
(3)
nitānta durbala āmi nā jāni santāra
e vipade ke āmāre karibe uddhāra
I am extremely weak and do not know how to swim. In this dangerous situation, who will deliver me?
(4)
viṣaya-kumbhīra tāhe bhīṣaṇa-darśana
kāmera taraṅga sadā kare utthejana
In that ocean, the crocodile of sense objects is terrible to behold, and the waves of desire constantly rise up in agitation.
(5)
prākṛta-vāyura vega sahite nā pāri
kāndiyā asthira mana nā dekhi kāṇḍārī
I cannot tolerate the force of the material winds of karma. Weeping, my mind is disturbed; I do not see any helmsman.

o go śrī-jāhnavā-devī e dāse karuṇā
kara āji nija-guṇe ghucāo yantraṇā
O Śrī Jāhnavā Devī, be merciful to this servant. By your own qualities, please remove my suffering today.
(7)
tomāra caraṇa-tarī kariyā āśraya
bhavārṇava pāra ha’ba kariyā niścaya
Taking shelter of the boat of your feet, I will certainly cross the ocean of material existence.
(8)
tumi nityānanda-śakti kṛṣṇa-bhakti-guru
e dāse koro dāna pada-kalpataru
You are the potency of Nityānanda and the teacher of kṛṣṇa-bhakti. Please give this servant the desire-tree of your feet.
(9)
kata kata pāmarere karecho uddhāra
tomāra caraṇe āja e kāṅgāla chāra
How many sinners have you already delivered! Today this beggar, this worthless person, falls at your feet.
