(1)
śrī-rādhā-kṛṣṇa-pada-kamale mana
kemane labhibe carama śaraṇa
O my mind, how will you attain ultimate shelter at the lotus feet of Śrī Śrī Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa?
(2)
cira-dina kariyā o caraṇa āśa
āche he basiyā e adhama dāsa
For a very long time this fallen servant has sat here cherishing the hope of attaining those feet.
(3)
he rādhe he kṛṣṇa-candra bhakta-prāṇa
pāmare yugala-bhakti kara’ dāna
O Rādhā! O Kṛṣṇa-candra! O life of the devotees! Please bestow devotion to the Divine Couple upon this sinner.
(4)
bhakti-hīna bali’ nā kara’ upekṣā
mūrkha-jane deha’ jñāna-su-śikṣā
Do not neglect me, thinking, “He is devoid of devotion.” Please give proper instruction and spiritual understanding to this fool.
(5)
viṣaya-pipāsā-prapīḍita dāse
deha’ adhikāra yugala-vilāse
Please grant qualification for the pastimes of the Divine Couple to this servant, who is tormented by thirst for material enjoyment.
Translator’s Note: In his earlier edition of Kalyāṇa Kalpataru, Bhaktivinoda treats the following verses as a separate song. In later versions, it is a continuation.
(6)
(Sindhuḍa Rāga)
cañcala-jīvana-srota prabahiyā
kālera sāgare dhāya
gela ye divasa, nā āsibe āra
ebe kṛṣṇa ki upāya
The stream of this flickering life flows onward toward the ocean of time. The days that have passed will never return. O Kṛṣṇa, what is now to be done?
(7)
tumi patita-janera bandhu*
jāni he tomāra nātha
tumi ta’ karuṇā-jala-sindhu
O Lord, I know well that You are the friend of the fallen and an ocean filled with the waters of mercy.
*Translator’s Note: The earlier version of this reads, tumi pāṣaṇḍa-janera bandhu (‘You are the friend of those who are atheistic.’).
(8)
āmi bhāgya-hīna, ati arvacīna
nā jāni bhakati-leśa
nija-guṇe nātha, kara’ ātma-sāta
ghucāiyā bhava-kleśa
I am most unfortunate and exceedingly ignorant. I do not know even a trace of devotion. O Lord, by Your own virtue and kindness, please accept me as Your own and remove the miseries of material existence.
(9)
siddha-deha diyā, vṛndāvana-mājhe
sevāmṛta kara’ dāna
piyāiyā prema, matta kari’ more
śuna nija guṇa-gāna
Grant me a perfected spiritual body and, within Vṛndāvana, bestow upon me the nectar of service. Making me intoxicated with divine love, please hear me sing Your own glories.
(10)
yugala-sevāya śrī-rāsa-maṇḍale
niyukta kara’ āmāya
lalitā-sakhīra ayogyā kiṅkarī
vinoda (kedāra) dhariche pāya
Please engage me in service to the Divine Couple within the circle of the rāsa dance. Bhaktivinoda, the unworthy maidservant of Lalitā-sakhī, grasps Your feet.
