Section Four – Rasa-kīrtana (Kīrtana Glorifying Rasa)
(1)
kṛṣṇa-vaṁśī-gīta śuni’, dekhi’ citra-pata-khani
loka-mukhe guṇa śravaṇiyā
pūrva-rāgākrānta citta, unmāda-lakṣaṇānvita
sakhī-saṅge calilā dhāiyā
Hearing the song of Kṛṣṇa’s flute, seeing His beautiful portrait, and hearing His glories from others, my heart becomes seized by pūrva-rāga. With the symptoms of madness, I run forward with the gopīs.
(2)
nikuñja-kānane karila abhisāra
na mānila nivāraṇa, gṛha-kārya agaṇana
dharmādharma nā karila vicāra
In the groves of the forest I go for the secret meeting. I do not accept any obstruction – household duties, countless responsibilities, or social rules. I do not consider dharma or adharma.
(3)
yamunā-puline giyā, sakhī-gaṇe sambodhiyā
jijñāsila priyera uddeśa
chāḍila prāṇera bhaya, vanete praveśa haya
vaṁśī-dhvani kariyā nirdeśa
Going to the bank of the Yamunā, I ask the gopīs for news of my beloved.Giving up fear for my life, I enter the forest, guided by the sound of the flute.
(4)
nadī yathā sindhu prati, dhāya ati vegavatī
sei rūpa rasavatī satī
ati vege kuñja-vane, giyā kṛṣṇa-sannidhāne
ātma-nivedana karila mati
Just as a river swiftly runs toward the ocean, so also she who is beautiful, replete with rasa, and chaste, rushes forward. With great speed she enters the grove and approaches Kṛṣṇa, offering herself in complete surrender.
(5)
kena mora durbalā lekhani nāhi cale
abhisāra ārambhiyā sa-kampa antare
Why does my weak pen not move? Even as I begin describing this meeting, my heart trembles.
(6)
milana-sambhoga-vipralambhādi-varṇana
prakāśa karite nāhi cale mama mana
My mind is unable to describe union, enjoyment, separation, and all such states.
(7)
durbhāgā nā bujhe rāsa-līlā-tattva-sāra
śūkara yena nāhi cine muktā-hāra
Those who are unfortunate cannot understand the essence of rāsa-līlā, just as a pig cannot recognise a pearl necklace.
(8)
adhikāra-hīna-jana-maṅgala cintiyā
kīrtana karinu śeṣa-kāla vicāriyā
Considering the welfare of those who are unqualified to hear such topics, and understanding the time is not suitable, I end my kīrtana here.
Thus Ends Kalyāṇa Kalpataru
