Overview

In this short editorial entitled 'Maṅgalācaraṇa' from Sajjana Toṣaṇī, Vol.4, issue 1, Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura invokes the blessings of Mahāprabhu and the Vaiṣṇavas, and prays for the good health of Queen Victoria, the ruler of India, so that the devotees can continue to relish and propagate pure Vaiṣṇava dharma.

(translated by Swami B.V. Giri)

There is only one Friend in my world, who is always merciful and in pursuit of eternal auspiciousness for the jīvas. He is the parātpara-tattva (the Supreme Absolute Truth) Śrī Nandanandana, who has appeared in a special form as Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Prabhu, whom we constantly worship through the nine processes of bhakti such as hearing etc. By the grace of that Śrī Śacī-nandana, we have resumed discussions on Vaiṣnava dharma after many days.

May the Vaiṣṇavas who have taken shelter at the feet of Śrīman Mahāprabhu have mercy upon us. We pray to Śrīman Mahāprabhu that our readers will listen to Him with an undisturbed heart, worship His feet and relish His divine dharma.

May our present ruler, Queen Victoria, reign in Bhārata with a composed body and untroubled mind. Under her rule, we continue to relish and propagate pure Vaiṣṇava dharma without any hindrance.
