Gītā-mālā

(1)
kabe gaura-vane, suradhunī-taṭe,
‘hā rādhe hā kṛṣṇa’ bale’
kāṅdiyā beḍāiba, deha-sukha chāḍi’,
nānā latā-taru-tale

When will I wander through the forests of Gaura on the bank of the celestial Gaṅgā, crying, “Hā Rādhe! Hā Kṛṣṇa!” Giving up all concern for bodily comfort, I will roam beneath the various trees and creepers.

śva-paca-gṛhete, māgiyā khāiba,
piba sarasvatī-jala
puline puline, gaḍā-gaḍi diba,
kari’ kṛṣṇa-kolāhala

I will beg food from the homes of even the dog-eaters and eat whatever comes. I will drink the waters of the Sarasvatī, and rolling from bank to bank, I will raise a tumultuous cry of “Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa!”

dhāma-vāsī-jane, praṇati kariyā,
māgiba kṛpāra leśa
vaiṣṇava-caraṇa-reṇu gāya mākhi’,
dhari’ avadhūta-veśa

Offering obeisances to the residents of the holy dhāma, I will beg for a trace of their mercy. Smearing the dust of the Vaiṣṇavas’ feet upon my body, I will adopt the dress of an avadhūta.

gauḍa-vraja-jane, bheda nā dekhiba,
haiba vraja-vāsī
dhāmera svarūpa, sphuribe nayane,
haiba rādhāra dāsī

When I no longer perceive any distinction between Gauḍa and Vraja, I shall become a vraja-vāsī. Then the true form of the dhāma will manifest before my eyes, and I shall become a maidservant of Śrī Rādhā.
