Gītā-mālā

hari he
anya āśā nāhi yāra, tava pada-padma tāra
chāḍibāra yogya nāhi haya
tava padāśraye nātha, kare sei dina-pāta
tava pade tāhāra abhaya

O Hari! One who has no other hope cannot give up your lotus feet. O Lord, spending his days under the shelter of your feet, he finds fearlessness at your feet.

stanya-pāyī-śiśu-jane, mātā chāḍe krodha-mane
śiśu tabu nāhi chāḍe māya
ye hetu tāhāra āre jībana dharibāra
mātā binā nāhika upāya

A mother may neglect her nursing child in anger, yet the child does not abandon its mother. For the child has no other means of sustaining its life without its mother.

e bhaktivinoda kaya, tumi chāḍa dayāmaya
dekhiyā āmāra doṣa-gaṇa
āmi to’ chāḍite nāri, tomā vinā nāhi pāri
kakhana dharite e jīvana

This Bhaktivinoda says: O compassionate Lord, you may abandon me upon seeing my faults, but I cannot abandon you. Without you, I can never sustain this life.
