1-2) The transcendental Goddess, Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī, has five different divisions of girlfriends in Vraja. She holds Her position as the crown jewel amongst all of these heroines. Their divisions are: 1) the sakhīs, 2) the nitya-sakhīs, 3) the prāṇa-sakhīs, 4) the priya-sakhīs, and 5) the parama-preṣṭhasakhīs. This last division is undoubtedly the best of all, for they are the dearest to Śrī Rādhā. Please listen carefully as I describe all of these dear girlfriends of Hers. Counted amongst the sakhīs are gopīs such as Kusumikā, Vindhyāvati and Dhaniṣṭhā who are very chaste in Vraja-dhāma.

5) There are eight parama-preṣṭa-sakhīs, whose only concern is to serve Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa with every aspect of their existence, whole-heartedly and selflessly. They are Lalitā, Viśākha, Citrā, Tuṅgavidyā, Campalatā, Indulekhā, Raṅga-devī and Sudevī, who are the chastest of all the sahkīs.
